Veteran Malawian musician, Paul Banda, has divulged his plans to release a new album in 2014 after many years on hiatus. Banda has assured Malawian music fans that his new offering will be nothing but quality.
The elder brother and mentor to Malawi’s celebrated music great, Lucius Banda, formed one of Malawi’s first pop groups, Alleluya Band, in the late 1970’s before he went solo.
He now owns Imbirani Yahweh Studios, and after retiring from the Malawi music scene in the 90’s, he dedicated himself to studio work and produced music for his brother Lucius Banda, Billy Kaunda, Mlaka Maliro, Joseph Tembo, Coss Chiwalo. Charles Sinetre, Charles Nsaku and many others.
The veteran musician has 14 albums under his belt including Malilime, Chikhristu, Ambuye Wayitana,Bwera Kwa Yesu and Mwaonjeza.
We are definitely looking forward to a good run from the Balaka music brothers with Lucius already having dropped his album, Time, in 2013.
