Its Christmas time, and Gwamba is looking to put a smile on his fans with a surprise single release.
Gwamba released a special song titled “We Will” for fans on December 25rd to celebrate the holiday season.
‘We Will’ features Zeus (Botswana), Stlofa (Lesotho), KrTC (Swaziland), Kaliwo (Zambia), Brian (Zimbabwe) and The Dogg (Namibia) and is the theme song for the United Nations Population Fund.
Among other issues, the song addresses issue of gender-based violence, human rights. It also lambasts early marriages and encourages education.
The track is sung with a twist and lyrics by Gwamba himself whose smooth vocals blend with Zeus’ high range to create a light, holiday feel in their song.
Commenting on the release, Gwamba, real name Duncan Zgambo said ‘I just felt like surprising my fans, please consider the song as a Christmas gift.”
Recently, Gwamba announced he will be releasing another song on New Year’s titled Finish Line, which features Botswana’s Zeus and Zambia’s Jay Rox of Zonefam.
Talking of giving out during the festival season, Gwamba in collaboration with other urban artists, designers and Project April Models, have organized what is being called the #FeedTheStreets Campaign, which aims at feeding street kids.
The campaign was supposed to take place on Christmas Day, but has been postponed to the 30th December, 2014 due to other reasons. It will take place at Shoprite Complex from 11:00AM to 2:00PM.
