Nkhotakota has for years been sidelined from bringing able artists in Malawi. Will the coming in of Khetche put this history to a stop? That’s for you to decide. Khetche, born Griffin Banda a Malawian artist from Nkhotakota but currently residing in RSA fuses dancehall and hip-hop genres.
He is a first born in a family of two, did his primary school education in various schools and then was selected to Mbidzi Community Sec School. He then moved to Nkhotakota Institute of Education where he completed his secondary school education in 2003. He loved music ever since he was young but the ambition to do his own music grew when he joined a church choir group. In 2010 he released a gospel single titled “Zanga Zonse” which enjoyed the airwaves at a local radio station in Nkhotakota. Khetche also worked as a presenter at Nkhotakota Community Radio Station from 2008 to 2011.

He has so far worked with several artists in some of his singles currently doing better in the game, the likes of Mwanache and more. One interesting song in his catalogue is “Sindikumvetsa” which debates on what happens in relationships before it begins and after it ends.
