Fans of celebrated music icon Skeffa Chimoto were offered a special song last week titled “Kankha” which the artist released through the Malawi Music Shop.

The song which is done in reggae version and co-produced by Viwe and Skeffa himself sends the message of hope to all people going through some real life challenges.

It was after its premier on a special programme on Zodiak Television on Thursday night before it was put in the Malawi Music Shop for sale at only K500. The move to sell the song in the newly and improved Malawi Music Shop has since seen a success as people across the country have shown their massive support by purchasing the song.

In an earlier interview, Skeffa said the idea to put the song on sale came after some of his fans raised questions on how they can support the artist financially in the wake of Coronavirus as shows were suspended by the government.

“My music lovers ask me how they can support my music and for me this time around, all I would ask for is that they buy my new single at the highest bid they can afford and I will be so much grateful

“So, I am certain that Malawians and other fans abroad will bid each other out and enjoy the sale for this Kankha song,” said Skeffa.

On the other side, Skeffa Manager, Isaac Msakambewa added that measures put by government to help contain Covid-19 have affected musicians financially hence they had to find some other means to thrive.

“Measures have been put in place just to make sure that Skeffa is active despite the entertainment challenges which have been posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We will use various platforms to allow people to buy this new Skeffa music. Mpamba, Airtel Money and of course a bank account will all be used so that fans can make online transfers.”

In the Malawi Music Shop, the song is selling at K500 through Airtel Money, Mpamba or Mo626 and also Paypall if the client is outside Malawi.
