Hip-hop artist Chimango Boy Magic Banda is expected to go for a treatment at St John of God Hospital in Mzuzu following his recent mental problem.
His mother, Martha Somba Banda says the family and other musicians like Onesmus are leading the fundraising drive to foot the medical bills.
She says Boy Magic started feeling unwell back in 2019 when he was living with his granny in Blantyre before she went to pick him for better monitoring.
Recently, unpleasing sight video clips of the artist have been circulating on the social media.
The family suspects use of drugs might have led to his current state.
Boy Magic came into limelight around 2012 when he was making music in a group called Team Gypsy, co- founded by Theo Thomson.
