As the whole world commemorate HIV Aids day, Lilongwe based reggae/dancehall artist, PQ, real name Pyken Mkwate has contributed a new song “Musa” in dedication to those living with the virus.
The new song came out on 1st December (World Aids Day) through Malawi’s number one music website, Malawi Music Dot Com.
In a brief interview, PQ said the inspiration behind the song is to sensitize the communities not to discriminate HIV patients in whatever ways.
“The song is about telling the masses not to leave out HIV Aids victims. Let’s unite to get positive vibes and full community inclusion in any related action not regarding of their status,” the artist pointed out.
This is the second song released by PQ this year as he also came out with “One In A Million” a couple of months ago.
The year’s World Aids Day was commemorated on Friday, to remember the estimated 40.4 million lives lost to HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, since the pandemic began in 1981.
- In Malawi, the celebrations were held in Nkhotakota where PQ performed Musa for the first time along side Eli Njuchi
The theme of this year’s World Aids Day was “Let Communities Lead”, according to the WHO website.
PQ’s new record, “Musa” has been recorded and mastered by Cuff B at Big Vision Entertainment.
