Malawian rap sensation Gomezgani Kambwiri, popularly known as Toast, has announced the release date for his much anticipated debut album titled “Files,” which is set to drop on 18 July , 2025.
Toast made the announcement today on his official Facebook page, where he shared the album’s cover art alongside an emotional caption describing his creative journey.
“Every song, every lyric, every beat, and every late night in the studio has brought me here. I’ve put my heart into this, letting the emotions, the lessons, and the growth shape every part of the music,” wrote Toast.
The rapper further described “Files” as more than just a debut project, calling it “a reflection of my journey, my voice, and my truth.” He added that he feels proud to finally share the body of work with his fans.
Reacting to the announcement, Malawian hip-hop veteran Phyzix, who boasts over six albums in his discography, congratulated Toast on the milestone. “Congratulations Toast! An album is very important for a serious artist,” Phyzix commented.
As part of the album rollout, Toast has already released a lead single titled “How You Do That” featuring Kim of Diamonds, which is gaining traction on various platforms.
Fans and industry stakeholders alike are eagerly awaiting the full project, with expectations high that “Files” will further cement Toast’s growing influence in the Malawian hip-hop scene as he has been missing in the game fusing to Afro.
