The past weekend saw Skeffa Chimoto launch his latest album, Chikondi, with unprecedented success. The weekend album launch saw Skeffa performing in sold out venues in Zomba, Blantyre and Lilongwe as fans everywhere scrambled to sample the latest from the Chinamuluma Chokuda hitmaker.
A spellbound Skeffa noted: “I am short of words. Malawians have given me the support I had never imagined to have in my music career. I know people are falling in love with the album especially Chinamuluma Chokuda, but I cannot conceal it, the turn-up was beyond my wildest expectations.”
According to Skeffa, over 7,000 Cd’s were sold in just the one weekend of the launch. “It is a records success to my career. It is not easy to sell 7,000 CD’s in just a weekend especially this time when piracy has taken its toll on CD sales. I say thank you to all the fans that gave me the support,” he said while extending his gratitude to Multichoice Malawi for supporting the launch shows.
