Malawian rising afro pop artist J Major , who is popuraly known for songs like Magobo and My Love in which he featured Dan lu has explained the latest single “Changamu” that came out on Monday 5 March. In an interview J Major explained that his latest release Changamu is a call for youth to be very active in everything they are doing.
As an artist I stay focused in everything I do, being so focused I experience a great transition in the music industry and the people’s lifestyle in ourdays comparison to these recent years.
“So what inspired me alot to come up with this fresh hit for the year tittled changumu(jack up) or in chichewa we call it osagona tulo, was the fact that I was astonished with the girls freakyness” he explained. J Major real name Juneid Khan also revealed he is planning more good music in the year 2018 having sited lack of active afro-pop artists to put Malawi on the global market ” This year am planning to release more music for people that love afro pop, Our industry enjoys more afro pop from countries like Ghana and Nigeria, so we would like to replace their music with our own afro pop and also putting malawi on the map” He added.

As if that is not interesting enough, the budding musician has already worked with an all star line up of producers and musicians such as Dan Lu, Tricky beats, Desert Eagle, Bucci, Gaffar, Abstract records and videographer Sukez of HD PLUS creations. Furthermore Jmajor describes his music as a unique touch of fusion with local and urban Afro pop and further revealed that he is working on different collaborations.”I have lined up different collaborations that i will not pre-empt on which artists am working with” he added. The New song titled Changamu features Bobby Cling and was produced by tricky beats. The visuals were directed by Sukez.
