Music icon, Paul Banda has announced that he is set to release a new album in 2014 after a prolonged hiatus from the Malawian music industry. The announcement may not come as news to some since Paul Banda took to the stage in 2013 performing with Alleluyah Band on several occasions and headlining the Carlsberg Street Party which was held on New Year’s Eve in Blantyre.
The veteran Malawian musician and elder brother and mentor to Malawi’s celebrated music great Lucius Banda. He formed one of Malawi’s first pop groups, Alleluya Band, in the late 1970’s and is now a solo musician and music producer.
He owns Imbirani Yahweh Studios, and after retiring from the Malawi music scene in the 90’s, he dedicated himself to studio work and produced music for his brother Lucius Banda, Billy Kaunda,Mlaka Maliro, Joseph Tembo, Coss Chiwalo. Charles Sinetre, Charles Nsaku and many others.
The veteran musician has 14 albums under his belt.
