Piksy’s new single is a moving song dedicated to newly-wed Deus and Mwanasha Lupenga., thus it was done for their wedding and it was sang and launched at the wedding.
The Airtel Malawi Brand Ambassador promised a new single this week, and it seems as though CCNB (Chimfana Chodziwika Ndi Boma) has followed it through. Today (Oct. 20), Piksy released his new single “Wako Wako” ahead of his new album Mthunzi.
Wako Wako is a modern afro-pop song with spacey musical themes, reflected much on love. The twinkling synthesizers add to a driving momentum, creating a major sense of buildup and epic urgency.
The song’s immediate kick off, comprised of a piano-like groove and a swell of stringed instruments, helps to set the song’s dramatic and romantic-filled theme.
“Wako Wako” seems to tell the lyrical story of an impending relationship and all the urgency and intensity that can lead to two people finally coming together.
“Tinafunitsitsa banja titamanga / Koma tinadziwa kufika sikuthamanga / Wona lero ndine wako wako, ndine wako” Piksy sings in the explosive chorus.
Commenting on song, Piksy said ‘it is a song that talks about love and patience, and all the things that make love to be love.
He continued by adding that ‘it is an unashamedly heartfelt tribute to the strength of women, and how much men depend on them. And people call women the weaker sex,’ he says. ‘How foolish is that?’
The topic of happiness, finding confidence, patience and love feels like a huge stretch for Piksy, and it works far better than it should. The song is positive but doesn’t force the topic into your face, instead it’s an easy message, delivered via Piksy’s most emotionally and romantically focused song to date.
The song was produced at JK studios in Blantyre by Yuze Yuganda.
Specific details surrounding Mthunzi, including a tracklist and album cover as well as additional guest musicians, will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
