Tendai Tambala has been crowned Miss MCA in pageant last weekend, beating out 5 other contestants.
Lusubilo Mwaungulu who is studying IMIS, and Maggie Maonga who is studying CIPs were the runners-up during Saturday’s competition at held at Amazon (formerly Zanzi) in Lilongwe.
Tendai Tambala currently studying higher diploma in business management, said the contests leading to Miss MCA were the first she’d participated in and as Miss MCA she plans on working with the college’s student union to encourage her fellow students to work hard in their studies and that she will work on keeping the campus beautiful and clean.
One of the organizers Ruth Chomboto, who is the student union’s secretary said the attendance and participation at the event was overwhelming and she would like to thank everybody that helped to make the event a success. The event was organized alongside Omar Sumani and Lucky Nkosi who are the entertainment directors at the institution.
The students who were competing at the event where trained by model one of Lilongwe’s top models, Sarah Chiundiza. The trainer however appealed that when people are modelling, they need to improve their confidence and take part in such events because it can bring about a lot of great opportunities for them.
The event was proudly sponsored by Malawi’s leading mobile phone provider, Airtel Malawi was spiced up by performances from Janta, Malceba, Krazie-G, Emm Q and LI from Pittie boys.
