In dancehall music artist have the culture of sizing each other up or as they call “Waring” verbally. Sometimes its just a gimmick to attract attention and other times its just testosterone build up as artists want to claim their supremacy over their counterparts. We all remember the waring between Jamaican dancehall stars Beenie Man and Bounty Killa..we can’t forget the verbal rivalry between Vybz Kartel and Mavado (Gazza vs Gully).
Now Malawi has its own dancehall war on the battlefield between Andy “The Analyst” Banton and Mad General. Andy Banton is part of the famous Blantyre dancehall crew The Don Dadas Alliance while Mad General is part of the now defunct veteran Dancehall group, Mad Character Crew.
The history behind this war is yet to be unveiled but all we know is that words have been said and verbal rounds of dissing have been shot. Here is the war of words between Andy “The Analyst” Banton and Mad General back to back.
