Veteran gospel singer Rev. Chimwemwe Mhango recently released a new single titled “Zamkanika” which he say is a taster off his yet to be released album.
The former President of Musicians Union Of Malawi (MUM) has not released any new songs for about two years now. Speaking about his comeback, Mhango said he’s back on the saddle and geared to push his music further.
“This is the first taster of the yet to be named album. This is my coming back bringing a diverse repertoire of traditional music beautifully captured in live studio session by Amos Mlolowa and a band of some of our selected A listers,” he said adding that he had tried to stay away from music but has now realized that it is impossible as music runs in his blood.
Without explaining much, Mhango said Zamkanika is a song which tells the power of God and emplores people not to let Satan rule their lives.
Mhango has been in the music arena for a long time and made headlines in the past years with Mhango Salvation Singers.
The founder of Redeemed Presbyterian Church said more songs would come out before dropping the album.
