Six international artists are expected to perform during the 2021 Tumaini Festival at Dzaleka refugee camp, which is starting today.
The event failed to take place last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The international artist have been drawn from South Africa, Democratic Republic Of Congo (DRC) and Zimbabwe.
Malawian artists like Eli Njuchi, Keturah, Faith Musa among others are anticipated to perform during the event.
Apart from music, the festival also showcases other forms of art like poetry, theatre and traditional dances.
Speaking to Capita FM, Founder and organiser of the Tumaini Festival, Menes La Plume, states that the increasing number of international acts at the showcase, is a sign of growth for the festival.
It is one of the few festivals recognized by Malawi Government and United Nations (UN).
It gives platform to established and up coming artists, artists with disabilities, artists of all races.
This year there will be six stages namely: Main Stage, Youth Stage, Theatre Corner, Poetry Corner, Art Exhibition Space and Cultural Ground.
